Oak Hill Residence provides a custom design for a rural setting, incorporating environmentally responsible design features. The following features were included: ground source heat pump, passive solar design for heat gain and solar control, natural daylighting and ventilation, passive clothes drying, photovoltaic energy system, superinsulation, high-efficiency glazing system, low-cost and low-maintenance finishes.

The rough plumbing and wiring for solar water heating and photovoltaic systems were incorporated in the construction, but the energy-generating and storage components will be added in the future.
